The Independence High School football team will play a home game against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC) at 7 p.m.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, April through September, from 5-9 pm. The event features food and dessert trucks, music and bounce houses. Tonight’s concert will feature the Coconut Groove Band. The Charlotte Knights will take on Gwinnett at 1:05 p.m. at the BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte. The Knights will also take on Gwinnett at 7:04 p.m. During the game, fans can register to be selected to participate in a special dice game promotion that could win them $50,000. Join American Girl® for an afternoon at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte. Attendees will enjoy lunch at the Bistro at the Charlotte American Girl store in SouthPark Mall before driving to Discovery Place Science for a class inspired by Luciana, the Girl of the Year 2018. Girls will participate in experiments and art activities, such as designing a rocket or spaceship. Afterward, enjoy a treat of space ice cream. Transportation is not included. The event will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $45 per person. Fans can meet famous wrestlers such as The Boogie Woogie Man, The Barbarian, Manny Fernandez and legendary referee Tommy Young as the Knights raise money for the Crockett Foundation. PWX Wrestling will bring the “Battle at the Ballpark” after the game. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus will be in action in the main event.
