Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Friday, August 10
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, April through September, from 5-9 pm. The event features food and dessert trucks, music and bounce houses. Tonight’s concert will feature The Catalinas. Saturday, August 11
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Teens are invited to participate in Community Service Saturday at 2 p.m. Participants will work on projects to help the library and other organizations in the community. Registration is required.
The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.
Students in grades 6 to 9 are invited to a beginner coding and computer programming class by Thinking Feet of Ballantyne. Students will design and build Mobile AppsStudents, a fully functional mobile app that you can install on your smart phone and share with family and friends. The class will be held at 3 p.m. Registration is required.
Monday, August 13
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
Kids ages 10-18 are invited to Stem 101: Life Sized Angry Birds at 3 p.m. This program will be held outside, weather permitting. Participants must wear close-toed shoes. Registration is required.
The Charlotte Knights will take on Buffalo at 7:04 p.m. at the BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte. Enjoy $1 hot dogs at the ballpark. The first 1,000 kids through the gates will receive a school kit presented by United Healthcare. There will also be a school supply drive to benefit Classroom Central.
