An Active Reading Workshop will be held at 2 p.m. Parents and children ages 2-5 can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.
Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Friday, March 9
The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte will present The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe March 9 to April 5 at the Wells Fargo Playhouse in Charlotte. This 55 minute, two person adaptation of C. S. Wrestling Night will feature hall of fame wrestler “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan signing autographs prior to the game. The Checkers will offer a Family Night discount of $45 (40 percent) on groups of four tickets purchased online. Bring a new or gently used pair of children’s shoes for the Soles for Kids Drive and receive a free ticket for a future game. There will also be a DVD Drive benefiting Novant Health.
