Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
The Rookie Science program will be held at 4 p.m. Kids ages five to 11 are invited to explore science through books, hands-on educational activities, and experiments. Registration is required.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.
Bring the whole family to enjoy Pajama Story Time at 6:30 p.m.

During the month of February, Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville will offer a Winter Olympics story time program on Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m. Wally Raccoon’s Farmyard Olympics by Leela Hope will be read during story time at the Town Center. Children will also enjoy learning about winter sports and this year’s host country of Korea. The program is included with museum admission. Saturday, February 24
Reed Gold Mine in Midland will offer Black Gold, Slavery and Reed Gold Mine guided tours beginning at 1 p.m. in the visitor center. The tour will explore the topic of slavery in eastern Cabarrus County during the 19th century. The cost of the tour is $2 per person. Children ages seven and under are free.
