Mint Hill Middle School students will present the musical, The Lion King. Show times are February 1-3 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $8 at the door.



The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice will be presented at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte January 31-February 4. Show times are January 31-February 2 at 7 p.m., February 3 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and February 4 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets start at $15. Sea Life Aquarium in Concord is offering Healthcare Professional Appreciation Month January 8-February 8. The aquarium is offering free admission to healthcare professionals and 50 percent off admission for up to four guests. Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.

Friday, February 2

Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville will present a Groundhog Day story time program at 11:15 a.m. The program is included with museum admission. Visit www.discoveryplace.org for more information.

Saturday, February 3

Discovery Place Nature in Charlotte will present a Groundhog Puppets program at 12:30 p.m. Children will enjoy stories, learn facts about groundhogs and will make a groundhog puppet to take home. The program is included with museum admission. Visit www.discoveryplace.org for more information.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 3 and 3:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Monday, February 5

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The American Girl Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. This month’s topic will be Addy. Registration is required.

A STEM 101 program for teens will be held at 6 p.m. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Wednesday, February 7

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
