Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Bring the kids in their pjs for Family Pajama Storytime at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, April 28
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, March through September, from 5-9 p.m. The event features food and dessert trucks, music and bounce houses. Check out “Matthews Food Truck Fridays” on Facebook for up-to-date information for each event.
Matthews Playhouse School of Theatre will present Cinderella. Showtimes are Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $9 for students and seniors.

Matthews Playhouse School of Theatre will present Mill Girls. Showtimes are Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $9 for students and seniors.
As part of the North Carolina Science Festival, Discovery Place Science in Charlotte will host a stargazing event from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on the top of the Discovery Place Science parking deck. The event is free. Parking is available on Level 2 of the parking deck. Telescopes will be located on the south end of Level 3.

Teen tutors will be available to help with elementary-level reading or math homework at 9:30 a.m. First-come, first-served for 30 minute sessions.
Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.
The American Girl Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. This month the club will celebrate American Girls’ birthdays. Attendees are invited to dress up like their favorite doll. Registration is required.
