Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.
Friday, January 12

Saturday, January 13

The Charlotte Checkers will take on Toronto at 6 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte. NASCAR Night will feature appearances by Ryan Newman, Matt DiBenedetto, Corey LaJoie, Michael Annett, Vinnie Miller, Ryan Preece, Regan Smith and Sam Bass who will sign autographs before the game. Bring a new or gently-used coat to the game to donate to WSOC’s Steve’s Coats for Kids and receive a free ticket for the Sunday, February 18 game. An Active Reading Workshop will be held at 2 p.m. Parents and children ages 2-5 can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.
