Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.

Friday, December 8

The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical” November 24 to December 23. Visit www.ctcharlotte.org for show times and ticket information.

Saturday, December 9

Wear your favorite pajamas and head to Discovery Place Science in Charlotte to experience PJs in North Pole City. The event will feature a special screening of The Polar Express in the IMAX Dome Theatre. Before the movie, children can make Christmas ornaments and reindeer food in Santa’s Workshop, write a holiday wish list and pose for a picture with Santa. The event cost is $14 for members and $17 for non-members. Two showings of PJs in North Pole City will be offered on Saturday, December 9 and one showing will be offered on Sunday, December 10. The Charlotte Hornets will take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 7 p.m. at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

The Teen Geek Club will meet at 2 p.m. This month’s topic is Anime. Registration is required.

Children can learn chess basics during the Learn, Play, Connect program at 3 p.m.
