Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.
Saturday, November 4
Pawsitively Matthews will be held at Stumptown Park in Matthews from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature 50-60 pet-friendly vendors, demonstrations, food trucks and a performance by the Coconut Groove Band.
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.
The Teen Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Registration is required.
Children can learn chess basics during the Learn, Play, Connect program at 3 p.m.

Sunday, November 5
The Morrow Mountain Old Fashioned Day Festival will be held at Morrow Mountain State Park from 1-5 p.m. Attendees will enjoy gold panning, “old fashioned” children’s games, storytelling, an interactive archeological display, live entertainment, a Civil War re-enactment and arts and crafts such as pottery, flintknapping and wood carving, The event is sponsored by the Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park.
Monday, November 6
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Tuesday, November 7
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.
The American Girl Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Registration is required.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
STEM 101 will be held at 6 p.m. The event is geared toward preteens and teens. This month, attendees will explore the science of catapults. Registration is required.

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Preschool Story Time for children age three to five will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
