Thursday, September 14

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can come by the library at 6 p.m. to receive free homework help from a library volunteer.

Saturday, September 16

On Saturdays in September, Discovery Place will offer free admission to educators and one guest. Free admission is available at any of the Discovery Place museums including Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature, Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville and Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham. To receive free admission, educators must present a valid school ID or NCDNPE homeschool certificate.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Children can learn chess basics during the Learn, Play, Connect program at 3 p.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 3 and 3:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Monday, September 18

Sea Life Aquarium in Concord will host Homeschool Week September 18-22. Homeschoolers can purchase tickets for a discounted rate of $7.50 per person. The aquarium will also offer learning activities from 12-4:30 p.m. for a variety of ages. Families must present proof of homeschooling to receive the discounted price at admissions. Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Tuesday, September 19

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The Teen Comic Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. September’s favorite is Doctor Who. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Wednesday, September 20

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age three to five will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Parents can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required.
