Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

  • Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
  • Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m.
  • Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Saturday, November 12
Dogs and their people can head to Stumptown Park in Matthews from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Pawsitively Matthews. The event will include pet-friendly vendors, food trucks, demos, contests and more.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

  • Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
  • Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.
  • Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 1 and 1:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival will be held on weekends October 1 through November 20. The festival is held at 16445 Poplar Tent Road, Huntersville.

Step back in time to enjoy entertainment, arts and crafts, games and rides, jousting knights on horseback, feasting and more from the days of the Renaissance.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

  • Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
  • Afternoon Adventures: Homeschool Edition will be held at 1 p.m. The program, for children ages five to 18, is focused on developing literacy and critical thinking skills through books and hands-on activities. Registration is required.
  • Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Tuesday, November 15
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

  • Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
    Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.
  • The Teen Comic Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month to discuss favorite comics. Registration is required.
  • Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 5 and 5:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Wednesday, November 16
Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

  • Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
  • Preschool Story Time for children age three to five will be held at 11:15 a.m.
  • Bring the whole family to enjoy a puppet show at 6:30 p.m.
  • Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
