Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Bring the kids in their pjs for Pajama Story Time at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, September 1
The Matthews Alive Labor Day Festival will be held Friday, September 1 through Monday, September 4. The festival features arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, children’s activities, carnival rides and entertainment. Friday festival hours are 6 to 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.matthewsalive.org.
Head to the BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte to watch the Charlotte Knights take on Norfolk at 7:05 p.m. Plan to stay after the game for a post-game fireworks show. The Knights will also play Norfolk at 8:35 p.m. on Saturday evening (September 2), 7:05 p.m. on Sunday evening (September 3) and 2:05 p.m. on Monday afternoon (September 4).
Saturday, September 2
The Matthews Alive Labor Day Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. The parade is one of the largest Labor Day parades in the Southeast. Saturday festival hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Arts and Crafts Pavilion will be open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A Food Truck Friday Rally will be held at Barking Duck Brewery in Mint Hill (4400 Morris Park Drive). Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a variety of food options while visiting with neighbors and friends. For more information, visit www.EatFromATruck.com.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.
The American Girl Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Registration is required.
A STEM 101: Robotics program will be held at 6 p.m. This month, children and teens ages 10-18 can explore robotics and programming challenges with Lego Mindstorms. Registration is required.

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Parents can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required.
