Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at the library at 11:15 a.m.

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 1 p.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this workshop series.

Friday, February 7

Saturday, February 8

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.

A new exhibition, Antarctic Dinosaurs, will open at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte on February 8. The exhibit will feature fossils from four recently discovered Antarctic dinosaur species. Antarctic Dinosaurs will be on exhibit February 8 through May 25. For ticket prices and more information, visit www.discoveryplace.org.

A Valentine’s Dance for adults and their children will be held at Crews Recreations Center in Matthews from 4-7 p.m. The event will include dinner, desserts, photography, music, dancing, Valentine crafts, and takeaway gifts. Ticket cost is $15 per person. Tickets are available online or in person at the Matthews Community Center or Crews Recreation Center. Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

An Evening Chess Club for all ages will be held at 5:30 p.m. Participants can learn chess basics and test skills in one-on-one or group chess games. Registration is required.

Tuesday, February 11

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.
