Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at the library at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30, 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a library volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required. Registration is limited to one 30 minute session per week.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Nutcracker Ballet, Sugar Plum Party, and Breakfast with Santa events at the Matthews Community Center. The Nutcracker Ballet is presented by Matthews Ballet and Dance. Performances will be held on the following dates: November 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., December 1 at 3 p.m., December 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and December 8 at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. A Sugar Plum Party will be held immediately after the 3 p.m. performances on December 1 and 8. Sugar Plum Party tickets are $5. Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for December 14 and 21 at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The event is for children ages 2-8. Tickets are $10 per person. Holiday on Ice, Charlotte’s outdoor ice skating rink, is open for the 2019 season. Bring your own skates for $12 or admission plus skate rental is $16. Saturday, November 23

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Teens are invited to participate in Community Service Saturday at 2 p.m. Participants will work on projects to help the library and other community organizations. Registration is required.

Sunday, November 24

The Carolina Renaissance Festival will be held on Saturdays and Sundays October 5 through November 24. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The festival is located at 15445 Poplar Tent Road, Huntersville. Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Children will enjoy stories, songs and activities in both English and Spanish during the Stories in 2 Languages: Spanish program at 10:15 a.m.

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 4 p.m. Registration is required.
