Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at the library at 11:15 a.m.

Story Garden: Homeschool edition will be held at 1 p.m. Children will enjoy stories and hands-on gardening activities. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30, 5:30, and 6:00 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a library volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required. Registration is limited to one 30-minute session per week.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Nutcracker Ballet, Sugar Plum Party, and Breakfast with Santa events at the Matthews Community Center. The Nutcracker Ballet is presented by Matthews Ballet and Dance. Performances will be held on the following dates: November 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., December 1 at 3 p.m., December 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and December 8 at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. A Sugar Plum Party will be held immediately after the 3 p.m. performances on December 1 and 8. Sugar Plum Party tickets are $5. Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for December 14 and 21 at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The event is for children ages 2-8. Tickets are $10 per person. Saturday, November 9

EpicFest will be held at ImaginOn in Charlotte from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EpicFest is a free literary festival that connects families with authors, illustrators, and books. The Family Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring appearances by award-winning authors and illustrators, activities that encourage a love of reading and learning, and musical performances by Eric Litwin. Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 6 p.m. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a library volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required. Registration is limited to one 30-minute session per week.
