Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Friday, July 21

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 2 and 2:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Children can learn chess basics during the Learn, Play, Connect program at 3 p.m.

The Lego Batman movie will show at 3 p.m.

Saturday, July 22

Bring the family to Concord Mills Mall from 12-2 p.m. for Safety Day. During the event, families will have the opportunity to meet with Public Safety Officials and participate in the American Red Cross pillowcase activity. Children will receive a safety kit and a snow cone. The event is free and will be held near entry 7.

Head to the ballpark in Kannapolis for Star Wars Night with the Intimidators. The Intimidators will take on Columbia at 7:05 p.m. The evening will feature special jerseys and a Star Wars-themed fireworks show following the game.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, July 23

Visit Discovery Place Science in Charlotte for Shark Week July 23-30. The daily activity schedule includes a shark-themed craft, fossil dig and the opportunity to observe a real shark dissection. Shark Week activities will be held daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and are included with museum admission. For more information, including an activity schedule, visit science.discoveryplace.org.

Wear your cowboy boots to the ballpark in Kannapolis for Country Night with the Intimidators. The Intimidators will take on Columbia at 5:05 p.m. Come early to receive autographs from your favorite players and plan to stay after the game for the kids to run the bases.

Monday, July 24

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Tuesday, July 25

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Rising kindergarteners are invited to participate in the Get Set 4 Kindergarten program at 2 p.m. The program is focused on building pre-reading skills and preparing children for success in school.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Preschool Story Time for children age three to five will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Professor Whizzpop will present his Building Blocks and Books show at 3 p.m.
