The Town of Matthews will celebrate a Family Fun 4th of July with a People’s Parade (non-motorized parade) followed by a concert in the park. Decorate your bikes, scooters and wagons, then join the parade from Matthews Station Street (in front of Town Hall) to Stumptown Park. Bike decorating begins at 5 p.m. on the Town Hall Green and the People’s Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. A concert featuring Too Much Sylvia will begin at 7 p.m. at Stumptown Park.
The SkyShow Street Party will take over Mint Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in front of BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte from 2-10 p.m. Enjoy kids crafts and activities, food vendors, and live music in celebration of the Fourth of July. The Charlotte Knights will take on Norfolk at 6:05 p.m. at the BB&T Ballpark. Veterans and active military will be honored with a flag ceremony following the game. Afterwards, enjoy the SkyShow Fireworks Spectacular, the largest fireworks display in the Southeast.
