Towers of Tomorrow with Lego Bricks opened at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte on June 1. Over three quarters of a million Lego bricks were used to create the 20 Lego skyscrapers in this exhibit. The Lego towers were constructed by Ryan McNaught, one of only 14 certified LEGO professionals worldwide. After you view the exhibit, challenge your own creativity by building with over 200,000 Lego bricks. The exhibit will be on display at Discovery Place Science through September 2.

An Active Reading Workshop Part 2 will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 2 p.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a library volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required. Registration is limited to one 30 minute session per week.
