Towers of Tomorrow with Lego Bricks will open at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte on June 1. Over three quarters of a million Lego bricks were used to create the 20 Lego skyscrapers in this exhibit. The Lego towers were constructed by Ryan McNaught, one of only 14 certified LEGO professionals worldwide. After you view the exhibit, challenge your own creativity by building with over 200,000 Lego bricks. The exhibit will be on display at Discovery Place Science through September 2.

Friday, June 7

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 2 p.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.

The Town of Matthews will host Charlotte Symphony Night in Stumptown Park. The prelude act is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the symphony performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. Food trucks will be available during the concert.

Saturday, June 8

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Community Service Saturday will be held at 2 p.m. Teens can work on projects to help the library and other community organizations. Registration is required.

The Town of Mint Hill will host a free, Family Fun U-Phonik Concert from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The event will feature bounce houses, corn hole, giant Jenga, dancing, and concessions.

Monday, June 10

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the Mint Hill Library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
