Thursday, April 18

The Town of Matthews will host The Great Easter Egg Expedition April 5-21. Several thousand multi-colored Easter eggs will be hidden in Stumptown, Squirrel Lake, Windsor and Sardis parks, as well as along the Greenway. Participants may keep the eggs they find. Find one of the 12 golden eggs, bring it to the Matthews Community Center, and receive one of the Expedition’s grand prizes.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Rookie Science will be held at 4 p.m. Children will discover the world of science through books, hands-on educational activities, and experiments. Registration is required.

Friday, April 19

The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte will present “Pete the Cat” April 12-May 5 at the McColl Family Theatre. The show is recommended for ages 4 and older. Visit www.ctcharlotte.org for show times and ticket information.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Children will enjoy stories, songs and activities in both English and Spanish during the Stories in 2 Languages: Spanish program at 10:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
