Book themes lately dig into vulnerability, authenticity, and transformation.
As it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed by the upcoming holiday season, let me suggest carving out some time for YOU by reading. For me, the month of November is all about personal and professional development. I decline 90% of networking events, and dedicate those hours to learning, growing, stretching my body, mind, and spirit. What can you do this month to ease a bit of frenzy and replace with a sprinkle of calm?
- “The Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes. A testament that as famous as people are, they too are paralyzed be fear and limited beliefs. Shonda sets out to accomplish a year of not making excuses, not hiding, but embracing all that is overwhelming and scary. Literally laugh out loud hysterical!
- “Rising Strong” by Brene Brown. Amazing Speaker. This book delves into the process that includes The Reckoning, The Rumble, and The Revolution from the expertise and perspective of a PhD, research professor at University of Houston
- “Love Warrior” by Glennon Melton. Survivor of rock bottom as a bulimic and alcoholic, she carries on authentically as a married mom of three only to discover infidelity. Her writing is so incredibly raw, honest, heartfelt, and humorous, I put the book the book down three times because I had to process her honestly!
