
MINT HILL, NC – Independence Patriots
Baseball:
Wilson Lohrer – The senior Patriot graduate was named this summer to the All-State 4A High School Baseball Team. His stats include a BA .548, OBP .642, SLG .786, OPS 1.427 while pounding our 23 hits, 7 walks, 9 RBI’s, and 19 runs earned Wilson the honors. Lohrer’s national ranking in the class of 2021 was #1121, NC #250, NC outfielders #35. He played for the Charlotte Megastars and Mint Hill American Legion teams. He is attending Southwestern Community College in Whiteville to begin his college education and continue playing baseball.
Football:
Cameron Kromah – The Patriots senior QB compiled a total of 143 yards of offense in his first game as the helm. He also scored the teams first touchdown of the season on a QB keeper from the six yard line.
Bryson Tisdale – The senior wide receiver caught 4 passes of 10, 15, 10, and 4 yards for an unofficial total of 49 yards in pass receptions.
Soccer:
Aaron Zhu – The sophomore scored a goal in the Patriots first two contests giving him 2 goals on the season and 4 points.
Thomas Rosenquist – The senior leader scored his first goal against A.L. Brown while playing solid defense for the Patriots in the early going.
Ru Reh – The sophomore scored his first goal of the season against Sun Valley in the teams victory.
Charlie Gottlieb – The junior slammed his first goal to gain 2 points in the opener.
Brayden Madden – The freshman scored his first varsity goal of his career against A.L Brown in the 3-3 tie.
Daniel Locklear – The junior goalkeeper tallied his first shut-out of the season in the opener against Sun Valley while accumulating 5 saves.
Queen’s Grant Stallions
Soccer:
Gabe Massey – The junior striker scored his first goal of the season against Parkwood, and added 2 more goals in the Mountain Island game.
Anthony Armas – The midfielder tallied 3 goals for the hat trick vs. Parkwood. Then picked up an assist in the Mountain Island contest. The Player of the Game now has 7 points on the season.
Liam Lorenzetti – The junior midfielder picked up 2 assists vs. Parkwood.
Will Hymas – A sophomore midfielder and defender scored a goal against Parkwood.
Thaeden Guskiewicz – Another midfielder and defender played an overall outstanding game for the Stallions against Central Academy. He was selected the “Player of the Game, by his coach for his leadership and solid effort.
Glenn Rogers – The junior goalkeeper had a strong performance in the loss against a strong Central Academy team tallying 15 saves on 20 shots on goal in 78 minutes in the net for the Stallions.
Elijah Guercio – The young sophomore was named “Player of the Game” with his 70 minutes of play with an excellent defensive performance against Mountain Island.
