Independence Patriots 

Basketball: 



Anthony Allen – The senior shooting guard led the Patriots with 14 points, 2 rebounds and added an assist against the Ragin’ Bulls.

Tachai Miller – Contributed 9 points, 4 rebounds, dished out 5 assists along with 3 steals Friday night.

Nygell Verdier – The senior added 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and blocked a shot in the upset loss to Hickory Ridge.

Girls Basketball: 

Trinity Thompson – The senior 5’5″ guard averaging 15.2 points per game scored 14 points, added 5 assists including 8 steals to lead the Lady Patriots to a huge Southwestern 4A Conference win over Hickory Ridge on Friday night.

Gracie Breckenridge – The junior who is solid in the paint contributed 5 points, but her strength is under the boards where she dominated grabbing 17 rebounds with 7 blocks while be named the “Player of the Game” by Coach Lauren Galvani.

Braylyn Milton – The junior 19.6 points per game scored 13 points along with 2 steals and a block to put in another fine performance as she was the focus of the Ragin’ Bulls defense.

Laura Flynn – The steady and reliable senior forward scored 9 points, hauled down 10 rebounds while adding an assist and a steal to make a solid contribution.

Ayanna Anderson – The solid forward scored a bucket, however, her specialty is under the boards where she grabbed 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block and 1 steal against a tough conference opponent.

Queen’s Grant Stallions

Basketball:

Jeremiah Murphy – The senior Stallion scored 18 points and followed up with 27 points in the teams two big conference wins. He also scored his 1000th career point Friday night. He now has 1022 points in his career. Murphy was selected this week’s “Featured Player of the Week.”

LB Boyette – The consistent senior continues to excel scoring 16 points against Bradford Prep and followed up with 27 points on Friday night in the team’s second consecutive conference win. Boyette is rapidly approaching the 1000 Point Club.

Josh Williams – The quick point guard led the team against Bradford Prep scoring a career-high 25 points, 6 assists and followed up with 9 assists in the big win on Friday night.

Girls Basketball: 

Natalie Goodfellow – The Lady Stallions point guard scored 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals against UFCA and followed up with a solid performance vs. Langtree Charter Academy.

Nasha Allen – The freshman scored 16 points, added 10 rebounds for a double-double and was named “Player of the Game” in the win over UFCA.

Ashley Aberly – The senior contributed 7 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and 1 block in the UFCA contest.

Lilly Todd and Jazlyn Jordan – Both freshmen as part of the “Core 5” made huge contributions with Todd scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks, while Jordan scored 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Rocky River Ravens: 

Basketball: 

Calik Thomas – The “Duke” scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and added an assist in the big conference win over Butler.

Nick Burns – The steady senior guard contributed 11 points, 3 rebounds and dished out 5 assists while landing some key 3-pointers for the Ravens against the Bulldogs.

Stephon Richards – The slick lefty shooter added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in the win over the Bulldogs.
