Sleigh bells will be ringing, and lights will be twinkling in the night through the streets of Mint Hill this Dec. 7 for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade.

The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Bain Elementary School and end at the Mint Hill Library. Following the parade at 7 p.m. will be the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Town Hall.

This event will provide high visibility for local organizations and businesses and is a great opportunity to create awareness while bringing Christmas spirit to the community.

Applications for entry in the parade are now being accepted.

Because this is an evening parade, all entries, including walkers will be required to wear lighting and/or reflective materials.

Entries will be inspected during staging. Please be aware all entries not following parade guidelines will be subject to rejection from the parade without refund.

Entries will be judged on the following:

Most Creative
Best Use of Lights
Best of Show

Important note for all parade entries: do not have a Santa as part of your parade entry. There will be only one Santa in the parade come through at the end.

The winners will be announced following the parade Christmas Tree Lighting sponsored by Atrium. Santa will also be present to meet with children and hear how wonderful they have been and make notes of what’s on their lists this year. There will also be delicious cookies from Daphne’s for all to enjoy.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a toy to support the Mint Hill Police Department’s Toy Drive supporting Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center of Charlotte.
