There’s something new and fashionable going on in Mint Hill. The Love You Back Boutique has opened on Matthews Mint Hill Road, in the same shopping center as Monroe Hardware. This is the second such store for owner Amber Fadio; she has another in Harrisburg. “The Harrisburg store has done so well that I wanted to offer the same thing in Mint Hill.”
Love You Back is stocked with feminine, comfortable, and reasonably priced clothing. “I offer clothing that can transition from day to evening; clothing that is not just for one occasion.” In the short time her store has been open, she has attracted many regulars. “We get to know the people who come in. We are honest in telling them how they look when trying on anything new, because if you look good, we look good.” She carries a lot of this season’s popular floral patterns, and the so-current off-the-shoulder look. Maxi dressers are selling quickly. “I barely get them in the store, and they are almost immediately snatched up.”
Amber says she encourages customers to step out of their comfort zone. “Some women may bypass a style thinking it would not look good on them. However, many times when they actually try it on, they are pleased with the way it looks.” And that is part of the inspiration for the store’s name. “I want to offer clothes that women love, and clothes that love them back by making them look great.” She strives to get away from the idea that some people have of a boutique being snooty and unfriendly. “I encourage my employees to be friendly and casual. I want to make this an enjoyable shopping experience for everyone. I want people to feel free to come in wearing sweatpants and flip flops. No high pressure.”
In addition to clothing, Amber sells shoes and jewelry. “One stop shopping–you can buy an outfit and get the shoes and accessories to match all in the same place.” Most of the clothing comes from the west coast, shoes and accessories from the east coast.
Love You Back also has fashions on the go in the form of a “Boutique Trailer” taken to festivals and other events. The concept of traveling fashion has become a common feature. “We sell a lot through the trailer setup. And it also encourages people to come to the store.”
Love You Back has two main sales a year, one in the spring and one in September–and of course Black Friday. “I don’t price my clothing to be marked down,” Amber explained. “I rather offer a price that is attractive without being marked down.”
For the fall, look for Love You Back to be stocking a lot of crushed velvets and faux suede. Amber loves to be able to provide the most up to date styles for the women in Mint Hill.
