Looking for an alternative to car dealerships when getting repairs done to your vehicle? Well if you are a Honda vehicle owner, and you are in the Mint Hill area, you’re in luck. Evans Import Service (known as EHS) on Matthews-Mint Hill Road is an independent, family owned Honda vehicle repair shop that has been in business since 1995.
Owners Evan and Whitney Evans offer maintenance and repair solutions exclusively for Honda owners. They do all types of maintenance: oil changes, air conditioning, brakes, tire balance and repair, starters and alternators, electrical system repairs, and axles to name a few. However, they do not sell tires or offer alignments. Evans employs two mechanics with over 50 years’ experience in auto maintenance and repair. Both have been with EHS for many years. While Whitney manages the front office and customer service, Evan works as a technician, solving complex repairs and diagnostics. EHS uses a Honda-specific software to diagnose problems and uses OEM (original manufactured parts). They are able to offer prices that are oftentimes less expensive than the dealerships. For example, timing belts are expensive to replace but EHS can offer a percentage off on parts and labor. Honda recommends minor services be performed every 7,500 miles, and major services every 30,000 for most of their vehicles. To keep your car running at its top performance, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations. EHS performs these periodic Honda maintenance services for you. EHS says it only performs work that is needed and that customers have agreed to in advance. Their top priority is to complete each auto repair as efficiently and completely as possible. “My husband’s motto is to treat people the way you want to be treated,” said Whitney Evans. “Our goal is to provide reliable, honest and affordable repair and maintenance to Honda owners. The EHS family treats your automobile like it is our own.” She says they stand behind their work. EHS’ clientele is from all Whitney and Evan Evans areas surrounding Charlotte. They have clients who have moved away but will come back to EHS when they are in town. “We have a good reputation,” said Evans. EHS is a member of the Better Business Bureau and can be found on Angie’s List. Whitney and Evan are originally from West Virginia and moved to Mint Hill in 1985. They have a twenty-year old daughter who is a student at UNCC studying civil technical engineering.
