Local 5K events to benefit organizations

Two upcoming 5K races will raise money to support unique causes. The Soles2Remember 5K run and walk this Saturday benefits the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund, and the Mint Hill Madness 5K on May 23 benefits the Mint Hill Lions Club.

The third annual Soles2Remember is sponsored by the Mint Hill Police Department and a variety of local businesses. The purpose of the funds raised through the race is “to help in commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers and to provide information that will help promote law enforcement safety.” The race coincides with National Police Week, which is May 10 through 16.  […]

Second annual 5K to benefit National law enforcement officers’ memorial fund

The second annual 5K run called Soles 2 Remember, will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 8 am beginning at Pine Lake Country Club.

Proceeds will benefit the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Fund

“The goal last year was $3,000,” says Sgt. Michael Gainey from the Mint Hill Police Department. “But we raised $8,000.”
