Novant opens new health express in Mint Hill

Recently, Novant Health has been opening Express Care Clinics in many neighborhoods. Mint Hill is their latest location, opening its doors last Wednesday.

“Within the greater Charlotte area, Novant Health is seeking to provide more places where we can care for the community,” said Kristin Moser a Public Relations Specialist for Novant Health. “As part of this larger strategy, Novant Health Express provides an affordable and easily accessed location for care. Mint Hill has been steadily growing and we are excited to provide this service to that community.”

Mint Hill is the fifth Express Clinic to open, other locations include Ballantyne, Park Towne Village, Davidson and Indian Trail.

Moser explained the function of the Novant Health Express Care Clinic was not to replace the role of a primary care provider but to more or less fill in for patients in need when primary care may not be available.

Mint Hill Chamber hears hospital update

At the monthly Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce member luncheon, members were updated on the progress of the Novant Hospital construction. 
The guest speaker was Mike Riley, President of Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital. He  will head up development and construction of the Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center. Riley will also be hospital administrator at the new location just outside Mint Hill town limits. 
“Mint Hill is a tremendous place to be,” Riley told Chamber members. “It is a growth center.” 
Before offering an update on development and  actual construction of the new hospital, Riley offered an overview of Novant Health Systems.

Novant meets with Mint Hill residents about planned hospital at I-485 and Albemarle Road

Novant say it is still on track to open a hospital at the intersection of I-485 and Albemarle Road, but the plans have been downsized. Novant submitted plans in 2008 for a hospital with 100 beds and 140,000 square feet of medical office space. Now the healthcare organization has submitted a new zoning application to include 50 beds and 80,000 square feet for medical offices.

The hospital would still contain 16 emergency bays, as well as space for rehabilitation, maternity services, and cardiovascular services. It woulda also have a laboratory and pharmacy. The zoning request includes 25,000 square feet for retail and restaurant space.  […]

Novant Health could open in Mint Hill by 2018

Novant Health hopes to open a hospital in Mint Hill by the beginning of 2018, a project that has been delayed since 2008. The company took a step forward in the process by filing a rezoning application at the end of April. This process could take six months, but if all continues as planned, they anticipate breaking ground at the end of 2015.

“We’re very excited about it. We really feel good that it’s the right thing to do for the community of Mint Hill and surrounding areas to have their hometown hospital,” said Roland Bibeau, president of Novant Health’s Matthews Medical Center. […]
