Monthly citizens meetings prove helpful for Mint Hill police

About 10 Mint Hill residents assembled at the Mint Hill Bojangles’ located at 9075 Lawyers Road on December 3, 2013. Chief Ledford says that the weather and the proximity to Christmas had an effect on the December turnout.

Although the crowd was smaller, they still had lots to talk about.

“We had a great discussion,” says Ledford. “Mostly, citizens were curious about police presence in their neighborhoods.” Continue reading

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The US Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and the community one cup of coffee at a time.
