Dogs Days of Summer aims to serve community, benefit shelters

Treat your dog to a day out and support local shelters at the Dogs Days of Summer event on July 19.

The event, hosted by Barks, Bones & Biscuits, runs from 12:30 am to 4:30 pm in the parking lot at 11300 Lawyers Road.

The proceeds benefit the Fabulous McGrady and Friends Foundation, which supports shelters throughout North and South Carolina.

“They sponsor neuter and spay clinics,” said Barks, Bones & Biscuits owner Robyn Kline. “They collect lightly used things that people might want to get rid of, like leashes, collars, blankets, beds and toys. We’re going through them because they can help more than just one shelter.”

Barks, Bones & Biscuits also held a dog food drive in the weeks leading up to the event. “The dog food drive is to benefit local shelters,” said Kline. Food can be donated during the event or dropped off at the store, which is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm.  […]
