Tonight’s Butler, Independence games postponed

Butler and Independence football games tonight have been postponed due to rain according to Butler Athletic Director Jim Boone and Independence Athletic Director Kelly Lewis. The games were moved to Monday at 7 pm when Butler will face Ardrey Kell at Bulldog Stadium and Independence will take on Myers Park at Patriot stadium.

Big I student semifinalist for scholarship

Yonas Soloman, a student at Independence High, was named a semifinalist for the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Soloman is one of 16 CMS students still in the running or the scholarship, which annually awards 800 scholarships worth $2.6 million to black high school seniors.
