Independence and Portor Ridge

On Thursday night at the Grady Cole Center the Independence Patriots scored another 

conference victory 79-60 over the Porter Ridge Pirates.

Deion Lane and Tayon Gleaves paced the Patriots offensively scoring a combined 44
points on the night.  Deion poured in 23 points grabbed 12 rebounds and recorded his
13th double-double this year hitting 8-of-13 from the field with a three-pointer and going
6-of-9 from the line. Deion finished the night with 4 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots.

Tayon Gleaves also had a big night with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. He was
 5-of-12 from the floor with two three-pointers and 9-of-10 at the foul line. Defensively
Tayon blocked 1 shot and played a tough defensive game the entire night guarding
Porter Ridge’s leading scorer.  […]

Indpendence Patriots holds off Garinger Wildcats

The Independence Patriots boy’s basketball team maintained their top spot in the

Southwestern 4A Conference by holding off a strong effort by the Garinger Wildcat
 Tuesday night to earn the road win.

After leading by only two points, 19-17, at the end of the first quarter, the Patriots
opened the second quarter with a 17-0 run and clamped down defensively holding the
Wildcats to only four points in the second quarter.

Garinger outscored the Patriots 47-39 in the second half, but was unable to overcome
 Indy’s second quarter run, allowing Indy to pick up the 79-68 road victory. […]

Tiderman picks up 200th win
