A street racing ring which Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have had an eye for several weeks was broken up last night on I-485 in Mint Hill. Four of the guys were caught, while others got away.
The Mecklenburg County justice system is broken according to a report by the by the Justice and Public Safety Task Force. Task force co-chairman Harry Nurkin cited billboards at the North Carolina and South Carolina border stating The Palmetto State is tougher on crime than The Tar Heel State. Continue reading
Dollar General on Lawyers Road, August 4, 2008:
This guy walks past the store office, sees a phone cord stuck in the safe door, grabs the cash, and walks out. His partner, and probable lookout, buys something to distract the clerk so the thief can exit. (Notice that the lookout guy has to borrow money from the thief.)
Mint Hill Police say the two guys took advantage of a frazzled new employee at Dollar General and they probably scoped the place out beforehand.
