Patriots take down East Meck 19-0

Last Friday night at Independence High School the Patriots opened  Southwestern 4A Conference play with a 19-0 win over the East  Mecklenburg Eagles.

Just before the first half kick off the rain also found its way to Indy’s homefield creating a steady downpour for the duration of the contest. Both teamshandled the conditions very well without any turn overs.

The Patriots scored all of its points in the first half while the defense held the Eagles scoreless. With 8:19 left in the first quarter Indy’s Cederick Stone returned an East Meck punt 92 yards for the score putting Indy up 6-0.

Senior running back Quantavious McGill added another first quarter score atthe 3:17 mark with a 4 yard run making the score 12-0 at the end of the first quarter. Indy got its final touchdown at the 9:19 mark in the second quarter when quarterback Christian McPhail found Duane Perking in the end zone for a 16 yard touchdown pass. Cougars take Patriots 41-20

Vance Cougars’ junior quarterback Kingsley Ifedi threw two touchdown  passes, ran for a touchdown and had a 110-yards rushing to help the Cougars beat Independence 41-20 Friday night at Vance High School.
