[singlepic=178,320,240,,center]Five minutes before the parade began, the rain stopped. What timing! So the parade marched up Matthews-Mint Hill Road without a hitch and the spectator turn-out was a lot more than expected considering the damp day. Now it’s on to Fairview Park for the festival.
[singlepic=122,270,190,,center]Jose Aguayo took first place in the Lion’s Club 5K Saturday on Bain School Road. More than 40 runners participated, including Mint Hill Times columnist Dr. Mike Richardson who ran in 33 minutes. More pics and complete race results:
[singlepic=82,110,190,,right]The Park on Fairview will be packed with people in three weeks attending Mint Hill Madness. The festival gets going September 26 with a three-hour performance on the blue stage by variety rock band Flamingo Tribe and one-hour shows on the red stage by Lamon Studio Kids, R.J. Adams and Four Jakes.
The annual parade starts September 27 at 9:30 am, and the opening ceremonies follow the parade at the Park on Fairview. Go to the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce Web site to view a complete entertainment schedule.
