On Saturday Carolinas HealthCare System held a Fall Fest. Free health and wellness testing and information was provided. In addition there was food, face painting, a bouncy house and pumpkin decorating.

Blythe Construction was awarded the bid to complete several annual resurfacing projects in Mint Hill.
“This will be strictly resurfacing,” said Town Manager Brian Welch.
Old Oak, Barnsdale, Cromarty, Carnegie, Pine Lake and Beaver Dam Lanes are on this year’s “to do” list, along with MiniMac and Mint Forest Drives, Terry Terrace, Gloman Court and Pine Hill Road.
“We opened the bids on September 30, but our Public Works Director was talking to and meeting on-site with contractors a couple of weeks prior to that,” Welch explained.
According to Welch Blythe Construction was the low bidder offering just over $446,808 to complete all the slated streets. […]
Mint Hill Arts has named Jennie Martin Tomlin Volunteer of the Month for October. She was recognized at the recent Opening Reception for the “People’s Choice Award Show” at the Gallery, located at 11205 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill.
The honoree, a long-time member of Mint Hill Arts, is an accomplished and noted artist, whose work is often exhibited at shows. Last year she took First Place in MHA’s watercolor show for her “Roses, Always Roses.” She also won Best of Show for her watercolor “Blue on Blue” at the Falling Rivers Art Gallery in Albemarle. As a dedicated member of the intake committee for several years, she has given many hours of service in this capacity. […]
