Special Olympics pics from Saturday

The Special Olympics Winter Games were held at the Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail Saturday. Two skaters from Mecklenburg County participated—David Wilches and Caitlyn Belk.

MH Chargers lead national all star team to victory

After finishing their season with a second consecutive American Youth Football National Championship, the Youth Football Club of Mint Hill Chargers were recognized again on a National Level by having six players selected to participate in the Under Armour All American game.  The players selected were: Josh Glisson (#22), Riley Ferguson (#4), Malachi Hanes (#80), Sean Wiggins (#41), Spencer Kendall (#44) and Uriah Lemay (#21).  These players were chosen to participate on the AYF East squad.  In addition to the players being selected, YFCMH Head Coach Mike Fairfax was also selected to serve as a coach on the East team. Extreme Ice Center to host Special Olympics event
