The team of 10 players emerged from the tour- nament with five wins and two losses. They tied with several teams for 13th, but their ranking placed them 10th overall out of roughly 30 teams.

This is the first time the team has attended this particular tournament. With teams from across the country in attendance, the tournament provided the girls an opportunity to enhance their skills. “It was a good experience alone regardless of wins and losses,” said Coach Julius Grant. “You don’t

know what you’re facing until you throw out that first pitch.”

ESPN even provided live webcasts of the games so people who couldn’t at- tend were still able to tune in. “It was amazing how many people were watching via the live feed,” said Grant.
