Mint Hill Madness logo 2014This year’s Mint Hill Madness will be the first for Mint Hill Events, Inc., the newly formed non-profit 501(c)(3) that has taken over planning the annual event which will run Friday, May 23 from 4-10 pm, Saturday, May 24 from 10 am-10 pm, and Sunday, May 25 Noon-6 pm at Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park.

“We’re still going to have the parade on Saturday,” says organizing member Mike Cochrane, “and we’re on target with the rides, and the fireworks schedule.  What we really need now is to finalize our sponsors and get help handling the event.” Cochrane, who is in charge of all the games, is one of a five-member committee, composed of community mem˝bers with years of festival experience. In addition to Cochrane, the committee consists of Julian Venable, Tony Long, Dalton Taylor and Scott Harris. Town Manager Brian Welch acts as the liaison between the committee and the Mint Hill Commissioners.

Cochrane says sponsorship opportunities are available on many levels.  Title sponsorship for the entire festival includes Title Float, four booth spaces, Parade Grand Marshall, exclusive entertainment sponsor, web links, advertising and banners. The Platinum level sponsors the fireworks, receives two booth spaces, a parade float, web links, advertisement and banners. Sponsorships are also available in the Silver, Bronze, Patron and Friend levels. In addition to sponsors, Cochrane says the committee is looking ¸for non-profits to help with the event in exchange for a donation to their organization.

“We would like to encourage any non-profit in Mint Hill to get involved,” says Cochrane. “We will give the non-profit a donation for helping with the parking, or the parade, for example.”

Mint Hill Madness is actively seeking vendors and exhibitors for the booths. This year’s festival will run three days. Sponsorship applications are available from Cochrane at Yadkin Bank located at 4335 Matthews-Mint Hill Road or at Mint Hill Town Hall located at 4430 Mint Hill Village Lane.
