More than 3,000 people attended the Third Annual SonFest at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. The event spanned two days and featured a guest appearance Friday night from Drex and Maney of the Drex and Maney morning show on KISS 95.1. Eleven bands provided continuous music while guests walked the midway and rode the Ferris Wheel, Gyro Extreme, and Carousel. The smell of ethnic and carnival-favorite foods such as corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy and Philly cheese steak sandwiches kept people coming back for more. The silent auc- tion drew bids on almost 200 items such as vacation getaways, sports tickets, salon and spa services, restaurant gift cards, electronics and much more. The grand finale Saturday night was a spectacular 25-minute fireworks show sponsored by Keffer Automotive Group.
Proceeds from this year’s event will be used for improvements of the church sanctuary. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army Center of Hope, which provides assistance to homeless women and children. —Submitted St. John Neumann Catholic Church
