A 67-year old woman was attacked this morning as she was attempting to enter a business in the 4700 block of Margaret-Wallace Road. A man acted like he was going to hold the door open for the woman. As he held the door he grabbed her purse and attempted to flee. The woman refused to let go of her purse and fell to the ground still holding the purse. She was drug a short distance before letting go of the purse. The man then fled towards a near-by apartment complex. Officers located the discarded purse a short distance from the business.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect is a black male, approximately 5’ 8” in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing a grey windbreaker with blue jeans, and had an earring.
