The Town of Mint Hill will host A Day in the Park on Saturday, March 24 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Park on Fairview, 8850 Fairview Road. The event is free. There is no registration. It will include professional and interactive demonstrations on disc golf, volleyball and other sports as well as yoga, dance and martial arts. The rain date for the event is Saturday, March 31.
According to Michelle Farrar who has been involved with the project, the schedule is about one half hour per program. The disc golf demonstration will begin at 10 am and be taught by INOVA. Tennis will be taught by a pro from Pine Lake Country Club. There is no one set for volleyball as yet but the event coordinators are hopeful to have someone from one of the area high schools. The yoga demonstration will be by Tone Your Temple. Dance will be taught by Mint Hill Dance. King Tiger will be on hand to teach martial arts.
Mint Hill residents are encouraged to take an online survey about their park usage. The survey is available at survey. It is also available at town hall by request.  For more information, call 704-545-9726.
