Independence students design clothes with positive message

“Are you Ignorant?” is a common phrase that founders Brian Acker, Broderick Cuthberson, and Kavon Shuler use for their clothing line “Ignorant Black Kidz” (also known as IBK Nation). It’s common that our society would view ignorance negatively, but the founders of IBK were determined to change the normal views and make it a positive movement.

Mint Hill Girl Scouts celebrate

The Mint Hill Times Girl scout Troop 1333 began as a Daisy Troop in September 2005. The girls are second year cadettes now and they are celebrating the 100th year of Girl Scouting with other scouts from around the world.

Saturday’s schedule for A Day in the Park

The Town of Mint Hill will host A Day in the Park on Saturday, March 24 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Park on Fairview, 8850 Fairview Road. The event is free. There is no registration.
