The Mint Hill Board of Commissioners heard from two candidates Thursday night at its second meeting of the month.
Ed Driggs, who is running for the District 6 seat on the Mecklenburg Board of Commissioners and Mayor Jeff Tarte of Cornelius, who is running for Distirct 41 seat, spoke to the Board.
In other matters
• No decisions were made regarding a conditional zoning request for BC&M, LLC, who would like to use wells in a subddivision instead of hooking up to water lines, or for a request from Sullivan and Roupas, LLC, who would like to have an exception from the Downtown Overlay Code to build fronting on a private street.
• A discussion about the roads in Ashe Plantation led to an approval from council members to repair these roads and be reimbursed by NCDOT for the work. After that, the town will take over maintenance on the roads.
• The fire report included 239 calls for service, 54 of which were for fires and 185 for EMS.
• Art in the Park will be held on August 29 this year.
