The fourth annual Rock a thon event was held at the Levine Senior Center last Saturday. The cause was to raise money for the center and its programs. There were crafts, virtual bowling, food and music. This is one of the center’s prority events according to Barbara Guthrie, assiatnt director. “We work on this all year long,” she said. “People bake. make crafts, donate crafts, all to support the center.”
It took at least $200 to sponsor a rocking chair with people coming from as far away as Salisbury and Monroe to rock. “It is one of our biggest events,” Guthrie said. Major sponsors of the event included Texas Roadhouse and Coke.
