Independence Senior wins CMS Martin Luther King Jr. Writing Contest

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools partnered with the MLK, Jr. Citywide Committee for the 18th time and sponsored the ML King, Jr. Art and Writing Awards. Students were asked to focus on a common theme. First Business Before Hours of the new year

The first Business Before Hours in 2012 had a good turnout despite the rain and  the cold morning. About 20 people were at The Mint Hill Barber Shop when the event began at 7 am. Coffee flowed freely along with fresh fruit, cheese biscuits, muffins, scones and cookies from next door neighbor, Daphne’s Simply Southern Bakery.
