New restaurant coming to Mint Hill

The Mint Hill restaurant scene is growing. Brad Bowen, a resident of the town, is in the process of opening a full service restaurant and bakery called Palmetto Grill and Bakery at the location formerly operated by Mama’s Pizza in Mint Hill Pavilion.
This follows the recent opening of The Hill Bar and Grill in the location that was once occupied by Mint Hill Grill and Deli.
Bowen has spent much of the past 30 years either operating restaurants or working in the corporate side of the food service industry. The Olde Sycamore resident hopes to have his new venture open by the New restaurant coming to Mint Hill end of August.
The restaurant will feature fresh cut steaks and fish and be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Bowen said he hopes to “bring to Mint Hill what it has been missing for years, an upscale, yet affordable family restaurant that serves made from scratch meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
The dinner menu will include Mahi Mahi, Bourbon Glazed Salmon, Red Striped Bass, Filet Mignon and Baby Back Ribs.
Lunches will have Asiago Cheese and Chicken Sausage sandwich, Jamaican Jerk Grilled Chicken sandwich, Crab Cake Sliders and Beef Philly.
The restaurant will also offer a full listing of wines and beer, but will not sell liquor.
In addition to lunch and dinner, the Bowen said they will also feature a full service bakery and a full breakfast menu. They will also offer take and catering.
Mint Hill’s restaurant scene took a hit in recent years in Mint Hill Pavilion, as Rookies, Mama’s, Don Juan’s and Carolina Bagel Company all closed.

Collett and Associates, a full service commercial real estate firm in Charlotte, recently took over the leasing responsibilities in Mint Hill Pavilion. The firm also leases properties in Matthews, Indian Trail, Charlotte, as well as other locations across the south.
Mint Hill Pavilion is an 80,000 square foot shopping center in Mint Hill that is anchored by Lowe’s Foods.

  1. I think Palmetto Grill & Bakery will give Jimmie’s Restaurant a run for it’s money! Jimmie’s has a huge menu but very little of it is actually “good.” Can’t wait until Palmetto’s opens!
