James Dixon of Mint Hill finished fourth in his division in the AMF National In-League bowling tournament last weekend in Las Vegas. He took home $5,000 for his efforts. The chase for bowling glory began with 108 finalists, each an AMF league bowler, divided into four divisions. The divisions were based upon the skill level of the bowler and their qualifying bowling average. Competitors were whittled down through an elimination-style format to determine the national champions. Although only one person in each division was crowned the $50,000 grand prize winner, every national finalist walked away with prize money, ranging from $25,000 for second place to $250 for the bowlers finishing in 17th to 27th place.
