Independence alum will speak at Queens U. graduation

Robert Morgan, a graduate of Independence High School, will be the commencement speaker at Queens University’s Graduate Student Commencement on May 6. Morgan was named president of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in 2005.

Prior to his current role, Morgan was president of the Gaston Chamber of Commerce from 2002 to 2005. He began his Chamber career in 1991 on the staff of the Charlotte Chamber.

In 2008, he earned the professional designation of Certified Chamber Executive from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives association. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
