Bluegrass festival announced for the Park on Fairview

The Armed Forces Museum and Archives of the Carolinas is hosting a Bluegrass Festival at the Park on Fairview on May 21. The event is called, “Salute to Our Armed Forces and the 1st Annual Bluegrass Festival. It’s being touted as a national day to pay tribute to the men and women who serve the United States’ armed forces. The hours for the festival are  10 am to 4 pm. Parking is a  $2 donation per vehicle.  The organizers will honor tradition and music, offer arts and crafts, family activities and of course food. Acts include George Hamilton IV, The Moody Brothers, Pinetuckett, Caitlin Gilliland, Southern Express Cloggers, The Independence High School Marching Band. Special guests include Doug Mayes, Former Newscaster for WBT Radio-TV and WSOC Radio-TV.
